La Batonniere has proven to be a reasonably robust house but like all old places it is prone to the odd niggle.  

Septic tank

The fosse is three years old and completely to code.  We do not expect any problems with it so long as our guests follow the rules about what not to flush. It is maintained on a yearly basis but the relevant local authorities.  The expert is:

Plumbing, electrics and heating

The heating operates on two systems, a heat pump for the majority of our heating but we also have an oil furnace which is only used in severe winters.

Roofing

It has been confirmed that our roof is in good order.  Nevertheless, we have had times when tiles have moved resulting in damp patches in the upstairs bedrooms.  Our contact is:

Pests / Moles / Wasps

We are currently dealing with an infestation of moles and the same company attends to all pest control problems. We have had a couple of wasps’ nests removed over the last couple of years. This company responds quickly to call out and does excellent work:
