1. La Batonnière is a strictly no smoking property. Smokers are asked to do so outside and to refrain from leaving cigarette butts on the ground

2. The keys for all exterior doors will be left in the doors and you’ll see that they are tagged and identified. Please remember to lock all doors when you leave the property.

3. WIFI Network:

Network name: LaBatonnière

Password: Labatonniere79310

The WIFI router is located on the table in the front entry. The connection is usually quite stable, but in case of problems, you can reset the router by unplugging the power cord for a few seconds. There are WiFi extenders in the kitchen and rear double. You will need to log on these extenders individually and the password is the same as above.

4. Entertainment system

The entertainment system includes a Smart TV, Apple TV and DVD player connected to a sound bar. Instructions for using the system are posted in the dining room and a copy is included at the end of this guide.

Don’t forget to sign out of your accounts (Apple, Netflix etc) at the end of your stay!

A selection of DVDs is available in the sideboard in the dining room.

The HiFi system in the drawing room is Bluetooth enabled for connection to your smart devices.

5. Linens

You will find towels for your use in the hallway cupboards upstairs. White towels and face cloths are for indoor use and the blue and white striped towels are for the pool.

Extra pillows and pillowcases are also available in the hallway cupboards as well as a memory-foam mattress topper to fit the sofa bed in the large double bedroom.

6. Swimming Pool

The automatic cover for the swimming pool is only in use when the pool is winterized during the off season. However, the pool is protected by a movement alarm that can be activated when the pool is unsupervised to warn against accidental falls.

A pool net is available should you wish to clear debris that falls into the pool.

7. Rubbish and Collection

Rubbish bins are located next to main entrance at the top of the drive way. The green bin is for general household garbage while the yellow bin is for recycling. Plastic bottles, metal containers and paper packaging can be recycled. Glass for recycling can be dropped in the bin next to the church in Vouhé. Collection is overnight from Wednesday/Thursday and alternates between garbage and recycling. Please move the relevant bin to the road side on Wednesday night.

8. Outdoor dining

A table with seating for 10 is located on the back terrace. Cushions for the chairs can be stored in the cupboards in the utility room. A round table for four located at the front of the house is particularly nice for breakfast. You will find both built-in and portable barbeques on the property for your use.

9. Fruit trees

Please help yourself to fruit and nuts from the trees when they’re in season. There are a variety of trees including cherries, figs, plums, apples and hazelnuts. Culinary herbs are grown at the rear of the house.

10. Bicycles

There is a bicycle storage room attached to the garage. Four bicycles are stored there for your use.

11. Boardgames

A variety of board games and playing cards for various ages can be found in the sideboard in the dining room. A set of boules for playing pétanque is also stored there.

12. Dogs

We ask that you keep dogs off of the furniture but a dog bed is made available for guests travelling with dogs, as well as bowls. If you need towels for your dog, we’ve left some in dark colours in the utility room. Dogs are not/not allowed in the pool.

13. Community etiquette

Please spare a thought for our neighbours if you are enjoying the garden and swimming pool late in the evening. Please be aware that loud music played outside will travel across the countryside.

14. Departure

Your departure will be arranged with the house managers. Departure time is normally prior to 10 a.m. on departure day. Cleaning of the property is included in your rental price, but guests are responsible to leave the house tidy. Dishes should be washed and food discarded from the fridge.

Kitchen and Laundry Guide

1. Oven and hob: The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and gas hob. There is an extra gas bottle stored under the counter to the left of the oven. Should you require any assistance, please call Lee and Jane.

2. To turn on the oven, you need to select a setting (dial under “Selecteur”) and heat level (dial under “Th Four”). We recommend using a non-fan setting (the settings to the right of the dial) as a fan setting sometimes results in a smoky oven. An oven thermometer is located inside the oven to provide an accurate temperature.

3. Feel free to use the salt, pepper and spices we’ve left in the kitchen for your convenience.
